*real-life version movie : 실사영화

*bubbliness : the state of being overly happy, overjoyed, and so full of energy that you might explode into a million bubbles

*get some skin in the game(have sking in the game) : take an active interest in the success or failure of a paricular project, activity, etc. because you are involved in personal or financial way

*on the flip side : on the other hand

*morbid : if you describe a person or their interest in something as morbid, you mean that they are very interested in unpleasant things, especially death, and you think this is strange

*to get one's nose bent out of shape(nose out of joint) : an emotional state where someone is in a bad mood because he/she has been offended by or taken exception to some action

*let-down : a let-down is a disappointment that you suffer, usually because something has not happened in the way in which you expect it to happen

*tap into something : to use something from a supply of energy, knowledge or etc. for your own advantage

위의 사진의 주인공이 오늘 팟캐스트의 에피소드에서 나온 문제의 Ariel 역을 연기하게 될 Halle Bailey이다.

이 에피소드를 듣고나서 이것저것 좀 찾아보니 만화에서는 백인이었던 캐릭터를 실사영화에서는 흑인이 연기하게 될 것이라는 것이 발표되고 나서 정말 많은 사람들이 그것에 대해서 반대하는 의견을 보이는 것을 여기저기서 볼 수 있었다. 

팟캐스트 에피소드에서 언급된 #ruining my childhood 같은 것도 볼 수 있었다.

더 특이한것은 이런 반응을 비단 백인에게만 나오는 게 아니라는 것이었다.

한국 영화 유튜버가 인어공주 실사영화 캐스팅과 관련해서 올린 영상에 달린 댓글에도 캐스팅에 대해서 실망하는 의견이 많았다.

나는 Culips 의 Host Andrew와 약간 비슷한 입장(아니 뭐 만화 캐릭터에 그리 열 내고 그래)으로 팟캐스트를 들었는데

나중에 한국식 Fairy tale이라고 할수 있는 장화홍련의 주인공이나 콩쥐팥쥐의 주인공이 중국인이나 일본인을 캐스팅했다는 소식을 들으면 과연 나는 어떤 반응을 보이게 될까 생각해보니 실망을 보이는 사람들의 반응이 조금이지만 이해가 되는 것도 같았다.

 

 

알라딘 실사판 캐스팅에서 지니역에 윌 스미스가 캐스팅 됐을 때도 말이 많았지만

결국 알라딘의 흥행에 견인차 역활을 한건 윌 스미스가 아닌가 할 정도로 칭찬을 받고 있으니

지금 이 캐스팅의 결과역시 영화가 나오고 나서 뚜껑을 열어봐야 알 것 같다.
